Ah, this debate. Those who accuse others of "eBaying" gear are usually pre-teen to 14. 15 Seems to be the magic number at which people stop giving a damn. Anywho. If you like the armor, go snag yourself some. Take Warrior Primeval armor, for example. Personally, I hate the stuff, but I don't go around screaming "ZOMG TREE PEOPLE!! NOOBS!!!". I however seem to be an insult magnet when I wear my fow armor tho... I dunno.

Grab the armor you want, ignore those who make fun of you. And FYI, the 55 monk blew away ANY value 15k armors had, cuz I for one 55ed my Dervish's Primeval, and am currently 55ing my ranger's primeval. To each his own :P

QFT - I've had my fissure armour for 18 months now and I've never had any sort of negative feedback. In the early days there was a lot of "can I see" pms from people who thought it would have different stats or something, but nowerdays high end armour is common enough that people don't even bat an eyelid.

WE are not lazy, we are just casual players.

YOU farmers have NO life, WE do.

WE envy your no-life farming practice, honestly.

But sadly it comes back to point A, WE have a life.

We may not have lives, but neither do you. You're posting on a forum about a game

And FYI, most of us do have lives. Kthx.

But, your comment is just flame bait. I DO NOT TAKE THE BAIT!

After awhile everyone has 15k or the funds to get 15k armor. I doubt you'll get any heat for wearing it bro.

touché...

I did want to sound rude, maybe I overdid it. But yea, its normal people will envy others, I have 150k in my storage that I haven't touched since... o lets say... 7 months, cause for me that 150k might never come back. xD (cuz I hardly have the time to play GW, let alone farm)

I've read some stuffs that I didn't like in this thread.

1) Why is everyone bashing the wammo? Being a W/Mo doesn't make you immature, it's just naturally the most easiest class to play as a beginner. I'm sure most you all (most, not everyone) have or has had a W/Mo.

2) What's this age discrimination? pre-teen, 15 etc.. Im 16, but that doesn't mean anything. I know very mature people under the age of 12, and it ticks me off how your pointing at a minority of the community and blaming them falsely.

i don't really care what anybody choses for their armor. personally I'm never going to spend the money on an obsidian set, i think most of them are hideous.
My only regret is that you can't get certain set bonuses on certain armor styles in prophecies, cause i rather like a lot of the armor from there

Why does everyone always care what others think! Live how you want, its a video game and wear what you want and dont let others tell you what you cannot do. My favorite thing to do is acquire money not only by farming but using heros and partying with random groups just for fun. I feel no need to tell any of you how much money I have but I told a GW friend of mine how much I had and he somewhat flipped on me asking why you need that much money and there is much better things to do in game then get money. Havent really talked to him much since even though he is in my guild but it just goes to show you to keep to yourself and dont listen to others.

If you are referring to ebayers as having lifes you are deadly wrong because they are buying ingame money for a video game...

I used to think it would be impossible to get enough gold & materials to afford 15k, but now I almost allways have my common materials storge max & 15k on 4 of my characters.

I honestly have only seen a few time where people are accused of ebaying in-game. And it's allways been when people flaunt thier money in some way. It those cases it's more annoying to hear those ppl talk about how 100k is nothing to them...

The irony of this statement is self-explanitory. It's totally natural to care what ppl think. You just have to balance it in a healthy way.

I worked my butt off to get my 15k grotto/citadel armour, and i didnt ebay a bit. I farmed all my chash for it, and only bought some crafting materials from another player in droks. ive never heard any guff about my armour. no to brag or anything, but when someone has somethiung to say about my armour its usually a compliment. and i only occasionaly go to grotto to show it off.

money really isn't that hard to come by in guild wars if you put even minimal thought into your income. most people just can't afford anything because the second they get any amount of gold, they blow it on something instead of saving it up.

I've had lots of money for a long, long time. I run Southern Shiverpeaks and doing 1 run from Rankor with a full party takes about 20-30 mins on a war. You made 70k a run, not counting the occasional scammer.. Thats almost enough to get 15k, buying mats. I dont only run. Power trading is how I got all my ectos for it. Theres threads around here that tell you how to get enough money to afford FoW in just weeks...If you are lazy and envy people who have FoW...Use the search button.

Oh, I got flammed the other night for having FoW on my dervish. First time since I got it. Guy said I ebayed, I said if I ebay, wouldn't I have the whole set? ^^ (I dont have the shoes, no shoes are worth about 200k)

If you want high end armor but are afraid of being flammed/getting a bad rep, who cares about them, they are mostly kids. Oh and to Sujoy, 60% of the kids I have met (under 15) ARE immature. There still is that 40% floating around there that wassn't mentioned. I believe the guy who said that the immature ones MEANT the immature ones.

--This is to anyone who thinks I am flamming you, I'm not. =)

Well, I hate to be a nay sayer here, but Vabbi is somewhat high-end. 250k set, last I checked. But you know what? I have the set on my Ele. I worked hard for that set, farming for hours to buy the gems for it. I don't believe in buying gold online. Tho it didn't not cross my mind at some points. It would have made things easier. But I didn't do it. No sir.

Sure I did happen accross 2 Crystalines in Sorrows Forge, and that really expediated the process. But hey, farming's farming. :P

And just recently, I bought Night-Fall end-game armour for my Ranger. Bones are super easy to farm, and they arn't very expensive. But still, 80k set. Sure I was farming ecto everynight with her trapping fun. But still, I'm down to like 3 ecto, and 0k in my bank account.

High-end armour is fun, and it's somethign to strive for in-game. It's a goal. And it's fun to go for a goal in a game like this.

OP: Welcome to the internet. It's full of jerks.

If you like the Vabbian armour style, then get it bro'. More power to ya. Most people, I've found, are generally complimentary of your armour, especially if it's dyed in an interesting, eye-catching shade that brings out the wonderful detail (I've had lots of comments about my 'sins Ancient armour... maybe 'cuz I threaten to hug people! ). And if there's jerks cussing you down because, well, (do jerks need a reason to?) - you could always turn off local chat.

15k sunspear warrior-3 weeks solid farming
15k luxon ranger-2 months farming, 2 weeks allience battle
15k kurzik ritualist- 4 weeks of farming 1 week of ab
15k pyromancer elementalist-1.5 months straight farming

it took me ages to get droks armor then ages to get 15K kurz now ages to get some fow XD. If you worked hard for it and you like it, it was worth it, if you e-bayed.. you COULD have spent that money on real clothes .

Not quite how i would say it, but generally the same way i feel.

I truely hope that the amount of public bashing on total strangers because of their armor is being exaggerated, as that is a REALLY bad reflection on the GW community. Then again, one cannot keep specific maturity levels from playing the game, now can we?

Personally, i have always had multiple 15k armors on all my characters simply because i LIKE them. Then when it came to my necro, i didn't like ANY armors cept the 1.5k Tyrian and FoW. Hence, i settled with the 1.5k set for months and months until just recently i got my necro his FoW! That said, i have NEVER gotten direct insults/ridicule for my armors, and though i have only had FoW (my first set) for a few days now, i can say i haven't gotten verabally abused for it, yet.

Sure i worked hard and long for it, but again i really have no way of proving that now do i? In fact, no one in this game really has physical proof of NOT using Ebay gold for GW. My point? Everyone's in the same boat, suspicion-wise, so i say throw off the shackles of "what others think" and put on the armor of "i like! Therefore i get!".

Anyway, sorry to read so many people get a hard time for the nice armor they worked for. Yet, i am sure ALL online games experience this in some way or another. I think it is because it is easier to ridicule when in a virtual world without worry of direct repercussions. In real life, it is much less common for a complete stranger to simply walk up to you and say "Your clothes are UGLY!" or "Spoiled brat! Your mommy and daddy bought you that!". Because if this WERE to happen, they would get a mouthful of anger returned to them, or just a fist to the face. Rather then give benefits of the doubt for hardwork people will often take the negative. Since we DO see this in game, it shows their maturity level is VERY low, their self-esteem is even lower, and most of all, they are a COWARD because they know that they have no repercussions to worry about... sad but true.

Errr, anywhoo, tahts my 2 cents.
cheers.
